About Us

Melksham is thought to have been a royal estate at the time of the Norman Conquest and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Melksham is now a small market town, sitting on the banks of the River Avon and surrounded by beautiful villages such as Lacock and Seend. It’s also close to the city of Bath which has been the inspiration for so many forms of art.

St Michaels ChurchWhen you think about art, do you think about snooty galleries and an elitist bunch of artists? If you do, then Melksham Arts for All is here to change your mind.

Here in Melksham, we do things differently. We are a group of artists and art lovers that feel art is about fun and creativity and that EVERYONE, if you have not discovered it already, has an inner artist in them!

Melksham CourtyardOur artists and community projects span all forms of art, from painting and sculpting to performing arts and the written word. We look for opportunities and ways to promote our local artists, both amateur and professional, whether that is through exhibitions, finding premises to display works, cross-promotion or competitions. We gain funding from a variety of sources in order for us to bring art into the community for everyone to enjoy.

So, if you are interested in art, participating in community arts projects or simply want to show off your own work, you really should join us.
